Focus

Every legislator must focus on key areas in order to accomplish useful legislation by the end of his/her term. These are my focus points:

Economy

The most basic factor in our economy is jobs for our people. Everything we do must be measured by how many good jobs will be created. I have already drafted and am working hard to get federal funding for a Lifeline Jobs Project to create jobs on each island to make up for our loses in recent years while we get our economy righted and repaired.

Health Care

We can overhaul our healthcare system in an orderly and smart way so that we have affordable health insurance and our citizens can depend on their hospital for excellent care. I have already put together proposed regulations to ensure that the hospital gets paid for the services it provides, and I will sponsor a new legislative framework for the entire integrated health system.

Environment

Our beautiful islands are our heritage and our most precious resource. I founded Beautify CNMI to get the community involved in protecting our environment and encouraging tourists to visit us. I plan to harmoize federal and local laws to provide protection without undue burden.

Connecting with the World and Education

We must provide basic Internet access for everyone and a place where all our citizens can advertise what they want to buy, sell, and give away. Our educators can enrich education with this resource and we can enhance our economy.
